Things have really been getting heated during the last month when we reintroduced The Reykjavik Championship Series at flat 50% off. This historic Reykjavik Chess set was produced by the famous company Jaques of London, that also introduced the first Staunton chess pieces. We have reproduced the exact reproduction of the chess set used during the iconic 1972 World Chess Championship rivalry match between legendary Bobby Fischer and reigning Boris Spassky (also known as “Match of the Century”) in Reykjavik, Iceland. The King proudly stands at 3.8 inches and its base is a robust 1.6 inches. Wider base and superb size proportioning from the king to the pawn exhibits true intricate craftsmanship in all the pieces. Dark chess pieces are exquisitely crafted in sheesham wood. All Chess pieces are expertly carved in India and weighted for prodigious hand-feel and a very nice thud on the wooden chess board.
