The Contemporary Staunton Series Chess Pieces with Board Combo in Bud Rose Wood & Box Wood - 4.2" King

This contemporary chess set features chessmen that are crafted with a combination of bud rose wood and box wood. Dark side chess pieces are made of bud rose wood and the opposing pieces are made of boxwood which is mostly used for white side. The king proudly stands at 4.2 inches and it's base is a robust 1.8 inches. The set comes with free extra queens for easy pawn promotion. All chess pieces are expertly carved and weighted for fantastic hand-feel and a very satisfying thud on the chess board. Each of chess piece has thick green felt on it's base for smooth movement on the chess board. The knights are superlative and show the astounding skills of our best knight artisans.

About Board: This beautiful Board is made of Bud Rose Wood on darker side and Box Wood on the lighter side. The underside of the Board is felted with green velvet.This sale is for the Chess Board alone and the pieces are NOT INCLUDED with this set. The size of the Board is 21" x 21" (53.34 cm x 53.34 cm) with square size of 2.2" x 2.2"  (55 mm x 55 mm). The Board is 22 mm thick.
