Great set at a fantastic price. Well worth the asking price (I bought two sets in order to hold family chess tournaments). My only complaint/suggestion is that there is no provision for ordering extra/spare Queens for promoting pawns. I would be willing to pay extra for spare Queens (If you can provide them please let me know).Posted on

Truth be told, I wish they had faithfully reproduced the Soviet Staunton Club knights, as they are the highlight of this Soviet set. Having said that, these more stauntonized knights are beautifully crafted.
Overall, it’s a gorgeous set, and it’s incredibly generously weighted. I think the set is very expensive, and I recommend getting it at a 50% discount, but without a doubt this set is of stellar quality.
What I’m perhaps most impressed by, however, is the service. I requested a custom ivory color, and although they didn’t have ivory lacquer on hand, they went out of their way to get some in matte and glossy, did some test pawns, and ultimately delivered a customized set at no extra cost. I don’t think any of the other vendors would have been remotely as accommodating.Posted on
