As the saying goes, Simplicity, the ultimate sophistication. This is what describes the German Knight. The design is very durable and easy to hold especially in blitz game. The only reason I can only give 4 stars instead of 5 stars for quality is the nose holes of the knights are not perfectly aligned and consistent as you can see from the attached photo. It might not affect the playing, but I buy chess pieces not just for playing but for its craftmanship for appreciation, and that litlle disalignment of the nose hole somewhat spoiled it.

The Chess pieces are very nice. It's well handcrafted. Just like the pieces used at 2024 world Rapid and Blitz and many more. Waiting time for the shipping is very minimal. Received the pieces at a very good condition aside from a very good price as well.

I figured it was when I ordered it. Chatted with a sales rep who promised me it was 1.5"". Got the set, and the King's bases were 1 3/8"" . Why they lie I have no idea. The German Knight sets always have skinny Kings. The set is beautiful and still nice, just the pawns and the Kings are slightly undersize.

An excellent light weighted chess set perfectly matching the price/quality ratio. The German-style knights are very recognizable. We have got those sets in our chess club. IMO that's the best economy set.

These pieces were well packed and were received in beautiful, flawless condition. They are exactly as pictured and advertised. The simple, sturdy and practical styling of the pieces, especially the German knights, makes them well suited to hold up to rapid play, especially blitz. A very practical set that is reasonably priced.

One of the best chess pieces that i have ever seen

If you have seen any high-level chess tournaments, or even head-to-head matches, you've seen these... Nothing much more to say here other than this particular set is nice in that they pull the King and Queen base diameter in a bit... That helps with blitz chess... \n\nJust buy them, you'll need them at some point... (m.)

This is the second set of pieces I have purchased from Chessbazaar the first being the 1972 Reproduced Fischer-Spassky set SKU R0302 which was of excellent five star quality. The current set I have just received (SKU S1222) is superb in craftsmanship, colour, and finish. Packaging and speed of delivery faultless. I have my eye on another different set I would like to purchase and will do so at a later time.

Despite the remoteness of the supplier, which caused me some degree of uncertainty, shipping was very fast, once manufactured. Beautiful pieces, remarkable value, exemplary customer service. Incidentally, I purchased these pieces because I love the elegance and simplicity of the set used by FIDE in most of their tournaments - these German Knight pieces are virtually indistinguishable from those used by FIDE. On top of all that, very secure packaging and fast delivery. What more could you possibly want?
