This chess set will be of high quality like any other of our chess sets, but it is imperfect/second quality in the sense that some chess pieces color, carving & size are slightly different from other and they may or may not include minor blemishes.

Note: There are no returns, replacements(apart from the in-transit damage), exchange, etc for this product. This product doesn't cover under our lifetime warranty*.

The opposing pieces are made of Painted boxwood which is traditionally used for white side. It is one of the fairly easy woods to work with and shows off aesthetic detail. All chess pieces are expertly carved and triple weighted for fantastic hand-feel and a very nice thud on the wooden chess board. Chess pieces have unique twin collar rings and thick green felts, which precisely envelops the base of each chessmen for smooth movement on the chess board. The knights are well-crafted and represent the highest grade of knight carving skills that our Indian artisans have to offer.

Craftsmanship: The carving of the knight is quite spectacular, look closely at the details around the mane and nostrils. The design of the other pieces is also highly commended to allow the set to truly stand out. They are meticulously handcrafted from the finest grade Painted wood and polished by hand to give it a rich and long-lasting shine. Each chessmen is carefully handcrafted in India with dainty details and the design, quality, and craftsmanship of these chess pieces is comparable to the luxury chess sets that are sold for $1000+ by other retailers.

Uniformity of pieces: The shapes of turned pieces are guided by metal profiles and so all turned pieces are identical, especially the pawns. You can expect some variation where hand carving or cutting comes i.e. knights.
